Beautiful Hands
When I'm old, I want to have beautiful hands. Not pretty hands to the eye, but hands that are beautiful for the stories they tell. I want wrinkled hands that have rocked children, rubbed shoulders, and scrubbed dishes. I want visible veins that beat with love and tenderness. I want soft hands, worked, yet cared for. I want scarred hands, for scars tell stories. I want strong hands, so they can keep spreading kindness. I want hands that have cared enough to touch souls. I want steady hands, to keep nurturing. I want warm hands, comforting to the touch. I want hands that have seen many years and faced them all with the grace of a princess and the strength of a warrior. I want beautiful old hands.
