Don't be Silent: A call to speak

     God gave you a mind to think and a mouth to speak. You have them for a reason. Don't waste those gifts. Use them to glorify God. You cannot sit by idly and expect to grow. You will go nowhere and help no one, including yourself, if you do not use the voice and thoughts God gave you. We do not know of the prophets because they sat silently in a corner. They were called to speak, called to write, and they answered. To this day their ministry continues to touch people because they were not afraid. Step up. Everyone's in the same boat. Don't be afraid to speak. Even by sharing your struggles you are helping others. This doesn't mean you have to go out in the world as a sun-shiny little bubble of joy, spurting off at the mouth everywhere you go, or be a raincloud dumping your troubles everywhere. All it means is that you shouldn't be afraid to speak in small groups, or among friends, or in Sunday-school, or even among strangers if you're led to.

     If you don't feel like you have anything to say, fine. But listen to what is being taught. Think about it, and maybe share what you get from it. Even if you think it's silly or irrelevant. You have the ability to touch someone, but if you're too afraid to, you could be missing out on a huge opportunity. Do not be silent. Do not fear speaking your heart, but be sure that what you say will be in some way true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy, in accordance with Philippians 4:8. Among all this, when you open your mouth, speak with love. Corinthians 13:1 "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or clanging cymbal." You have the power to change someone's world forever by choosing to speak up with love and grace. Don't miss the opportunity.
